Unix Test

Tomorrow will be my Unix test. Nervous... although I managed to finish all the hard questions (the test will be based on those), I still do not have 100% confidence in it. But when it comes to programming, it is still my forte :) except for Software Engineering Principles and Tools which gives me creeps -__-||

Anyway, I made a huge decision - I decided to forgo Internet Explorer and embrace open source technology - Mozilla Firefox browser. Its layout and colours are good. However, it'll be tough be change the way I used Hotmail. With IE, I can just click on my MSN Messenger and poof! I'm at my inbox.. but now, you gotta bookmark it becoz MSN Messenger doesn't allow you to change the browser settings to allow its mail to be opened by any other browsers except IE.

Gotta help HP with her Unix.... I'm confident that we will do well in the test.

Short Easter

Easter is over for a week but since there's nothing exciting about the break, I decided not to write anything about it.

While attempting my yet another Unix programming for another subject, HP told me that blogger allows me to be the first few to register for a Gmail. It gives you 1GB of mail space... YES 1GB!!! Hotmail only give 2MB. Unfortunately, I can't access Gmail inbox using my Internet Explorer despite the fact that I already configured my IE to the lowest security settings possible. However, Netscape allows me to view it though...

I think even if I got my Gmail working on IE, I would still use hotmail becoz of its integration with MSN which will pop-up the number to emails I have everytime I log in.... if Google decides to do the same, then Google all the way!!! Think of 1GB of mail space!! :D~

Anyways, I was thinking of changing my browser to Opera... any comments? If it allows me to go to my hotmail everytime I click my MSN, I would gladly change.

Busy Thursday

Thursday is always a busy day for me. Class starts from 9am and ends at 6.45pm which includes an hour's break. In simple terms - SIONG.

Woke up at 10.30am when I'm suppose to be in school at 9!! Decided to sleep a bit more since I've already missed it :P But I'll be going to another one instead... I can't miss this lab class.. it's too impt becoz debugging C program in Unix platform SUCKS. Unlike Visual Studio, this doesn't have GUI (Graphical User Interface). All I did was to type 's' like 10 times in a loop to get a 10 letter word out of the sentence T_T

Anyway, I went to another class at 11am for Application Environments. Since HP and I agreed not to approach the person, we started doing our own lab exercises while waiting the other person to take the initiative. It's not until about 1/2 hour later when the tutor introduced her to us. Her name is Lin. Soft-spoken but with a slang which is enough to tell us her length of stay here. Much to our surprised, Lin said that she finished her lab exercises but not the extension exercises (HP and I do extension whenever possible). We then told her to understand all the cut-and-paste codings before we continue discussing out project. Will be meeting up again next Thursday in the lab.

Since this week's lab is about Unix, which I'm learning in another subject, I finished everything in 1 hour :P We then went off to grab the usual cheap pizzas. HP went off for her lecture while I headed home for a small rest... as there will be another 2 hour lab T_T
